Tips From Aardvark

Designing Your Summer House
If you're considering an hot tub summer house, there are many factors to consider. From selecting the right location to choosing the perfect cladding finish and style, every detail matters. Here are some tips to help you design your dream summer house with a hot tub area from Aardvark garden buildings.

Choosing the Right Location
When choosing a location for your summer house, consider the view, privacy, and accessibility. You may want to position your summer house in a spot that provides a beautiful view of your garden or the surrounding landscape. Additionally, consider the level of privacy you desire, and ensure that your summer house is not visible from the main house or the street.
Accessibility is also crucial, especially if you plan to use your summer house frequently. Consider how easy it is to get to your summer house from your main house, and ensure that there is a clear path to it.

Selecting Cladding and Style
The materials and style you choose for your summer house should complement the existing architecture of your home and garden. You may want to opt for a traditional standard 12mm cladding, or modern 16mm log lap cladding, depending on your personal preference. Additionally, consider the durability of the materials you choose, especially if you plan to use your summer house year-round.
Wood is a popular material for summer houses due to its natural beauty and durability.

Incorporating a Hot Tub
A hot tub is a perfect addition to your summer house, providing a relaxing and luxurious experience. When incorporating a hot tub into your summer house, consider the size and location. You may want to opt for a smaller hot tub if you have limited space for your spa house, or a larger one if you plan to entertain guests.
Ensure that the hot tub is positioned in a spot that provides a beautiful view and allows for privacy. Additionally, consider adding lighting and other features such as a cover or steps for easy access.
By following these tips, you can design a beautiful and functional summer house with a hot tub that meets all your needs.

Maintenance and Upkeep
To keep your hot tub in top condition, it's important to establish and maintain a regular cleaning schedule. This will help prevent the buildup of dirt, grime, and bacteria, which can affect the performance and lifespan of your hot tub.
Start by draining and refilling your hot tub every three to four months. This will help remove any buildup of minerals and chemicals, and keep your water fresh and clean. You should also clean your hot tub's filter regularly, ideally once a week, to remove any debris and maintain good water flow.
To clean your hot tub's surfaces, use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage your hot tub's finish. You should also clean your hot tub cover regularly, using a mild detergent and warm water.
Your spa house should be treated once a year with a good quality oil or paint depending on your colour choice
